Marlton Travel was established in 1976 as a full service retail travel agency. In 1994, Helen Black purchased the company and added Marlton Travel to her line of multi-location agencies in NE- US. Realizing the future of the internet, the agency eventually moved from retail to e-tail. Today, Marlton Travel is based in southeastern U.S. and consists of independent contractors (travel agents) operating in several cities. Helen continues to oversee all activities and she specializes in luxury travel to Europe, Asia, Africa & Hawaii.

With the advent of internet, a decision was made to move away from retail and airline ticketing. Gradually, the business developed into a company of experienced and specialized independent contractors and the base of the business shifted from package vacations to individual upscale/independent custom travel itineraries using private drivers or limousines, luxury hotels, private tours, business or first class air, spas and adventure excursions.
